Assessor. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:15 -4:15. Pay is $32,000 to

Job Overview
The Real Property Assessor plays a crucial role in evaluating and assessing real
estate properties to determine their value for taxation purposes. The
assessments help to determine property taxes, which fund local government
services such as schools, police and fire departments and other local taxing
districts. The use of methods such as field inspection, structural measurement,
calculation, and sales analysis to determine the fair market value of a
property. This includes new construction and major improvements to existing
structures, recording data about the property including square footage, number
of bedrooms, bathrooms, and other features as well as physical condition and
quality of construction. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical
skills, be proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Duties
· Conduct thorough assessments of residential properties to determine market
value.
· Utilize various methods of data collection to gather information on property
characteristics and market trends.
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate property assessments and
compliance with local regulations.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of real estate market conditions, trends, and
valuation techniques.
· Employ GIS tools to visualize property data and enhance assessment accuracy.
Qualifications
· Strong background in real estate appraisal or a related field.
· Excellent mathematical skills for accurate calculations in property
assessments.
· Ability to effectively collect, analyze, and interpret data from various
sources.
· Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is highly desirable.
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part
of a team.
· Must be 21 years of age or older.
· A valid driver's license is required.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Advanced math skills and mathematical reasoning.
